Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8 October 2026
LibraryCaptain ("we", "us") provides a mobile app and service that helps library and study hall owners manage seats, members, fees and renewals. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have. By using the app you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
From you, the library owner or staff member:
- Account details: your name, email address, phone number and password (stored in a hashed form, never in plain text).
- Library details: library name, address, city, state and pincode, and the floors and seats you set up.
- Plan and payment details for your LibraryCaptain subscription, such as the plan, dates and amount paid.
About your members, entered by you:
- Member names, phone numbers and optional email addresses, along with seat allotments, subscription dates and the fees you record.
You are responsible for having the right to enter your members' information into the app. We process it on your behalf, only to provide the service to you.
Collected automatically:
- A device token, so we can send you push notifications such as renewal alerts.
- Crash reports and basic usage analytics, collected through Google Firebase (Crashlytics and Analytics), to help us find and fix problems.
How we use it
- To create your account, verify your email and keep you signed in.
- To run the features you use: seats, members, subscriptions, payments, invoices and reports.
- To send service messages: verification codes, plan reminders and renewal alerts.
- To activate and manage your paid plan.
- To keep the service secure, prevent misuse, and improve the app.
We do not sell your data or your members' data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers who help us run LibraryCaptain, and only as needed:
- Cloud hosting: our servers are hosted with Oracle Cloud in Mumbai, India.
- Google Firebase: push notifications, crash reporting and analytics.
- Email delivery: to send verification and notification emails.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Security and storage
Data is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and each library can only see its own data. Our database is backed up regularly. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete your library and member data, except where we must keep some records, for example for accounting or legal reasons.
Your choices
- You can ask us to correct or delete your account and your library's data.
- You can turn off push notifications in your phone's settings.
To make a request, contact us using the details below.

LibraryCaptain is meant for library owners and staff, and is not directed at children under 13.
